Sirocco, Sprint and Sirocco Twin Land Sailers |
We love to rave about our Sirocco. But in case you think we might be a tad biased here is what some of our customers think. From Ken in Wisconsin
HI Daniel,
What a blast-I love it. I got home late afternoon
on Monday in time to set it up and then sailed it on tues for about three
hours. Called up my son and he also sailed it for about a hour. Then Wed again
I got another two hours. The winds were projected from 15 to 30.
I'm sure I got 35 to 40 top speed.
Sorry I did not get back to you sooner but I was
having too much fun! You mentioned something about developing skis for it.
Please let me know when you do. that would really round out the season for
lthe ice boat.
We had about 1-2 inchs of snow Tues and Wed. and
now it is all melted again. It was a pleasure meeting you and learning about
the ice boat. I will be going on your web site after I send this. Have a great
time on the ice!
Ken HI Daniel,
Was on the lake yesterday and got to switch with a
bigger ice boat made of wood with a hand tiller. It was just as fast but not
near as responsive in light winds and the foot steering is so much nicer. He
was always getting out to hand turn into the wind on his and mine came around
so easily. Will send pictures some time.
Tell me about your plans to make snow skis!
Ken

Daniel -
I would like to thank you for all your fantastic
support in helping me get started in land sailing. While looking through the
July 202 issue of Popular Mechanics I came upon the Sirocco Land Sailor in the
"neat stuff" section and immediately decided to call the toll free number.
Without a personal computer, I spent a lot of time on the phone with you
discussing where the Sirocco would be able to accommodate my long legs, how
would a person sail it, and maybe I should come to Chicago to pick it up. You
sent a promotional DVD. After I viewed the DVD I was hooked. I could afford
this. For the price of renting a yacht for a week, I could sail a Sirocco for
a long time.
I picked up #16, Sweet 16 I call her, in Chicago and
took her to Ivanpah. I had never seen another land sailor in action (other
than the DVD) and, with only 40 hours of water sailing instruction at J World
in San Diego as my total sailing experience I rigged up and got in ...
Slowly, I pulled in the main sheet, the sail filled and I was off, much faster
than on water!!
Suddenly, a puff that would have been visible on water
hit unannounced and accelerated the Sirocco on two wheels for a few seconds -
What A Rush!! You manufactured an extension to the foot bar, allowing my long
legs to fit, at no additional cost. Thank you. I really enjoy the suspension
system and sturdy construction which allows me to navigate obstructions at
high speeds (40-50 mph) without loss of control.
I appreciate your patience with all my numerous
questions about sailing and efficient turning. You have been so very
helpful. I could not ask for a better Land Sailor. It may or may not be the
fastest racing Land Sailor, but it is the toughest, most comfortable and most
versatile Land Sailor available.
Thanks for everything. See you on the flats.

PS: Matt checked out every production land sailer available before settling on the Sirocco. The harder you look, the better we look. |
