A quick and effective wind indicator:
Materials: 1 coat hangar, duct tape, old cassette tape, linemans pliers - Value of materials - 10 cents - time 5 minutes.
Ok! Gone are the excuses for not having a spar mounted wind indicator for those tricky wind days. This works well and if it gets hooked by somebody on a close start and pulled off, no big deal!
